Major Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Columbus Land Bank Authority, with the oversight of the Land Bank's function.

  • Responsible for performing thereal estate functions for the City to include, but not limited to, ManagingCity properties for sale or lease, and Managing a categorized database of allreal estate owned by the city.
  • Establishes plans to achieve goalsset by the Community Reinvestment Director, and implements policies, and procedures.
  • Assists the Community ReinvestmentDirector in the development of current and long-term organizational goals andobjectives as well as policies and procedures for City Real Estate operations.
  • Assists the Community ReinvestmentDirector in the development of current and long-term organizational goals andobjectives as well as policies and procedures for Columbus Land Bank Authorityfacilitation.
  • Maintains frequent contact withthe Community Reinvestment Director to maximize the effectiveness of day-to-dayoperations and community engagement to identify issues, determine strategies,and set priorities for addressing the same.
  • Formulates and implements acomprehensive communication strategy regarding City Real Estate and Land BankAuthority activities.
  • Responsible for the day-to-dayoperations of City-owned Real Estate.
  • Responsible for the day-to-dayoperations of the Columbus Land Bank Authority.
  • Oversees the process of acquiring,holding, and marketing properties obtained through various recovery efforts forCity owned Real Estate and those of the Land Bank Authority.
  • Establishes and maintainscooperative working relationships with local units of government, communityorganizations, and agencies (private and public) to create rental options, home& business ownership prospects, and economic development opportunities.
  • Works to develop economicdevelopment opportunities to link equitable housing opportunities and communitydevelopment goals.
  • Coordinates and performs mediarelations regarding City Real Estate and Land Bank Authority activities, andany other media related to the Community Reinvestment Department.
  • Represents Community Reinvestmentand the Land Bank Authority at various internal and external meetings.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by theCommunity Reinvestment Department Leadership.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicateand respond to inquiries both in person and over the phone.
  • Fluency in /MicrosoftOffice Suite.

Minimum Educational and Training Requirements

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, CommunityDevelopment, Urban Planning, or a related field is required. Three (3) years ofrelated experience is required. Two years of specific experience managing realestate transactions and or tax foreclosure properties is highly desirable. Thisposition is required to travel for meetings and appointments. Some appointmentsmay be held at personal residences where levels of cleanliness and safety vary.

Physical Requirements

The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table. The employee must occasionally lift light objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
