This position is the point person for activities related to providing Production with input/support in the processing of products and coordinates collection, analysis and reporting information for food safety, quality initiatives and SQF, Kosher, and Organic platform management.

Tasks • Works closely with production managers and operators to ensure efficient operation. Provides run packets in a timely manner. • Assures finished products meet specifications and customer based reporting requirements. Certifies products via Certificates of Analyses. • Evaluates and dispositions raw materials or finished products via established procedures. Manages the QA database and tracking system to ensure timely disposition of finished products. • Provides quality inputs into the scheduling process. • Manages calibration of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Maintains calibration logs for each piece of equipment showing frequency, method, sign offs, etc. • Provides assistance during new product scale up trials. This includes updating parameters, monitoring trials and providing analysis. • Assists Food Safety Specialist with periodic audits of food safety and quality programs. • Fulfills QA Assistant or tech role when needed. • Oversee sample request program in Silverton. • Other related duties.

Qualifications • Possesses a minimum of three years’ experience working in QA/QC in the food industry. • A Bachelor of Science in the sciences including Biology, Microbiology or Food Science is a plus, but not required. Must have demonstrated abilities in written and oral communication with excellent spelling and accuracy. • Must be able to perform general office duties. • Must have competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail. • Must be able to perform arithmetic functions. • The person in this position must have ability to prioritize, follow-through on multiple tasks and work in a safe, efficient manner; abiding by all safety related policies and procedures.
