A Parents as Teachers National Center (PATNC) certified parent educator provides the information, support, and encouragement that the parents need to help their child develop optimally during the crucial early years of life. This is done by providing education in the form of personal visits in their home, group meetings, screenings, and linkages to a network of resources for parents and children.

• Develop trusting relationships with parents as a model for parent-child relationships.
• Uses appropriate work-related behavior, dress and attitude toward fellow professionals.

Minimum Educational and Training Requirements

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in a related field.
