Columbus Technical College is seeking a full-time Communications and Marketing Specialist for our Communications and Marketing Department. This position will be responsible for assisting in the creation and management of marketing and communications content for the college. This position is full-time/non-exempt.
Responsibilities:
Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include state holidays, annual leave, and sick leave, State of Georgia Retirement, Health and Flexible Benefits Program.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and plans marketing efforts for the technical college.
- Create messaging as needed for all forms of marketing communications, including presentations, marketing material, newsletters, articles and social media.
- Takes photos and writes news releases to be submitted to local media.
- Create compelling copy for brochures, flyers, annual reports, ads and other promotional materials.
- Write and update website content for the technical college.
- Coordinates social media presence for the college.
- Collaborate with senior staff on developing speeches, presentations and other materials as needed.
- Assist with media outreach.
- Proofread all marketing communications.
- Fact-check and ensure timeliness and accuracy of all content before publication.
- Assist with other Communications Department tasks and projects as needed; and
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of public relations theories and practices
- Knowledge of English grammar use, research, theories and practices
- Knowledge and understanding of a technical college education
- Knowledge of ADA compliance materials production
- Oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage projects
- Ability to present a variety of informational and promotional materials
- Ability to write for interaction purposes
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or other related field *and* Three (3) years’ experience in writing for marketing communications.
- Experience in marketing and communications within an educational institution or entity.
