Job Description:

Goldens’ Foundry & Machine Company is seeking qualified individuals to join our Machine Shop in Columbus, GA. The CNC Machine Operator plays a critical role in supporting foundry operations by safely operating and monitoring CNC machining equipment to produce quality machined cast iron components in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires experience in an industrial environment, attention to detail, critical thinking, and initiative. The operator works independently and as part of a team and works directly with CNC Programmers, Quality, Maintenance, and other Machine Shop personnel to maintain production, quality, and equipment performance.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain the workstation and surrounding area.

• Properly load and unload material and parts in CNC machines.

• Operate and monitor CNC machining equipment to maintain safe and efficient production.

• Use gauges and measuring equipment to verify part dimensions and maintain established tolerance requirements.

• Maintain required quality of workmanship, production quantity, and cycle-time expectations.

• Recognize and properly use inserts, fixtures, tooling, and other equipment required for assigned machining operations.

• Monitor machine operation and recognize alarms, abnormal conditions, tooling problems, dimensional changes, and other issues that may affect production or part quality.

• Identify machining or potential programming issues and coordinate with CNC Programmers or supervision as appropriate.

• Work directly with CNC Programmers to produce quality machined parts in a timely manner.

• Assist with troubleshooting machining, tooling, fixture, and production issues within the responsibilities of the position.

• Complete required production, quality, and inspection documentation accurately and timely.

• Support preventative maintenance efforts and report equipment conditions requiring Maintenance attention.

• Follow all established safety procedures, quality policies, specifications, work instructions, and company policies.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 months CNC machining experience.

• Experience using a Fanuc controller.

• Ability to recognize and assist in determining machining and programming-related issues.

• Ability to maintain attention to detail while meeting established quality and production requirements.

• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures, quality policies, specifications, and instructions.

Additionally, safety is our highest priority and safety procedures and guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes wearing PPE such as hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, flame-retardant clothing, and steel-toe work boots.
