Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Engineer with 2-3 years of mechanical design experience to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess strong SolidWorks proficiency, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities and projects frequently evolve. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of product development and manufacturing support initiatives while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative design solutions and improve production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop mechanical designs from concept through production while considering performance, manufacturability, cost, quality, and reliability.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement, and operations teams to support project objectives.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining project schedules.
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change documentation, and technical reports.
- Support prototype development, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.
- Provide day-to-day engineering support to manufacturing operations, assisting with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of production-related issues.
- Develop and implement design changes, engineering corrections, and continuous improvement initiatives to support production goals.
- Assist in resolving design and manufacturing issues through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Effectively balance multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic environment while maintaining a strong focus on execution and results.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 2-3 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or manufacturing support.
- Strong proficiency with CAD, including part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawing creation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate across multiple departments.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to travel internationally when required. <5%
Preferred
- SolidWorks Experience.
- Familiarity with engineering change management processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, 3D-printing, stamping, and assembly.
- Experience supporting prototype builds, product testing, and production implementation.
- Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
