Shift:Â 11:00am - 7:30pm (Time Varies)
Position Goal
Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, employees, and visitors.
Position Responsibilities
Cook Responsibilities:
- Â Reviews menus and work orders to determine quantities of food to be prepared
- Â Maintain cleanliness of station throughout service
- Â Maintain proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards while preparing food, serving food and clean-up
- Â Maintain food temperature logs, and refrigerator/freezer logs
- Â Orders food products from storeroom
- Â Pre-prepares special items that require attention
- Â Prepares and measures proper ingredients
- Â Must properly label, date, store, and rotate food items and products under refrigeration and in the freezer
- Â Coordinates cooking schedule
- Â Ensure proper temperature for all food items being served
- Â Coordinates proper and prompt utilization of leftovers
- Â Cleans work areas as assigned
- Â Displays a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments
- Â Performs related duties as requested
- Â Attends and satisfactorily completes the mandatory education classes
- Â Cooks on grill if needed
Experience:Â 1-4 years hospital, institutional or restaurant cooking preferred.
Education:Â High School graduate or equivalent required
Special Certifications:Â Â ServSafe Certification required or must obtain within 6 month of hire.Â
