General Summary

Provide team member relations support to assigned section of the company. Advise on strategic positive team member relations issues and cooperatively develop action plans. Advise management on actions and activities consistent with positive team member relations and KIA GEORGIA foundation. Coach and counsel all team members on KIA GEORGIA expectations, philosophy and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with HR Policy & Practice development and administration, including enforcement, education, and interpretation to ensure fair and consistent team member treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Coach and counsel all team members on KIA GEORGIA expectations, philosophy, and values.
  • Support administration of policy and procedures in the area of Employment, Staffing, Career Opportunity System, and Workforce Stability for hourly team members.
  • Lead activities in support of conflict management and concern resolution, including conducting thorough and fair investigations.
  • Coordinate performance management, corrective action, and termination processes. Support DOL during the unemployment process; participate in phone screens and attend scheduled hearing.
  • Facilitate positive team member relations activities including team member involvement and recognition.
  • Gather information of worker attitudes toward environment and supervision in order to identify and resolve team member relations problems.
  • Communicate with section management on current team member issues and environment.
  • Direct manufacturing on strategic positive team relations issues and cooperatively develop action plans.
  • Advise management on actions and activities consistent with positive team member relations and the KIA Way foundation.
  • Analyze and effectively resolve complex situations involved with decision-making and interpretation.
  • Apply good judgment, logic and company philosophy to situations to ensure consistency and fair treatment.

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field along with two (2) to five (5) years of progressive experience in employee relations and/or human resource management in a manufacturing environment preferably within the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of federal and state labor law (NLRA, FLSA, ADA, FMLA and TITLE VII).
  • Must be willing to work varying hours, overtime, and rotating shift schedules.
  • Have HRIS experience, strong conflict management, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Have problem-solving, administrative and organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
  • Be able to maintain the confidential information.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • Experience with SAP system preferred.
