Purpose

We are currently seeking ambitious and driven candidates to join our graduate engineering rotation program called Liberty Foundations. The Liberty Foundations program is a two-year rotational program that will begin for the new hire in June 2024 and is designed to provide new graduates with the breadth of experience in the Utilities industry.
 

In your first month of the program, you will start a journey of understanding more about our company with an organizational orientation. This will include short rotations across several functional departments within the Utility, to gain an understanding of operations and your connection to adjacent functions. You will also join your cohorts on various site visits. This overview will help launch the foundation of learning you will receive throughout the program. At the completion of our in-depth orientation, you will complete three, 7-month rotations in our Engineering Stream, at our Natural Gas Distribution utility in Columbus, GA. The combined 2-year rotation program will provide you with industry-specific technical and professional experiences, that will benefit your career advancement opportunities here at Liberty at the conclusion of the rotation program.

 

Your first rotation will be selected for you in one of the rotational areas within the Engineering stream, based on your skills, experience and future goals. Each rotation offers a variety of opportunities to allow you to further develop new skills and gain a diverse set of skills in the field. Below is an outline of each rotational for Engineering:

Accountabilities

Engineering stream:
Asset Management: Creating a platform to scan documents and drawings enabling us to vectorize data for future functionality with workflow process applications.

 

Project Management: Learn about the project management process from conceptual, design to implementation of upgrades and new projects.
 

Utility Engineering: Learn about all forms of how our commodity flows with hydraulic modelling, support project selection and prioritization for inclusion in capital budget.
 

System Integrity: Learn about how Engineers look at the system from a reliability perspective
Regulatory Compliance: Learn more about ensuring we're doing things in ways required by federal, state and local regulations.

 

Codes & Safety Standards: Learn about the minimum design requirements, proof of concept and redesign of systems and ensure they are within federal, state and local regulatory guidelines.

Education and Experience

Newly graduated from post-secondary institution with a focus in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering. (December 2023 – June 2024 Graduates preferred).
Strong analytical and methodical problem-solving skills
You are a self-starter with a proven ability to work well independently or within a team environment
You collaborate well in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
