PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of Attendance Intervention Specialist was developed to work with teachers, administrators, the Family Services Coordinator, the School Social Worker, and parents to improve student attendance and decrease tardiness.
| REQUIREMENTS: |

| 1. Educational Level: | Minimum 60 semester/100 quarter hours of eligible college hours OR passing score on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment Test required. |
| 2. Certification/License: | Hired candidate must maintain Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate |
| 3. Experience: | None |
| 4. Physical Activities: | Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities |
| 5. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: | Written and oral communication |
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
| 1. | Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. |
| 2. | Formulate an action plan for the purpose of improving attendance and punctual arrival at school |
| 3. | Contacting parents when students are absent each day |
| 4. | Make home visits when a student has been out more than one day |
| 5. | Schedule conferences with parents of children that are chronically tardy and/or absent for the purpose of emphasizing ways to support student attendance, providing feedback, and addressing concerns related to student attendance |
| 6. | Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator. |
