REQUIREMENTS:

1. Educational Level:

Bachelors degree in job-related area. Masters in Instructional Technology or Education preferred.

2. Certification/License:

Valid GA Teacher Certification required.

3. Experience/Equivalency:

Job related experience is required.

4. Physical Activities:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, 25% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

KNOWLEDGE is required to perform advanced math; review and interpret highly technical information, write technical materials, and/or speak persuasively to implement desired actions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: appropriate codes, policies, regulations and/or laws; age-appropriate activities; lesson plan requirements; stages of child development; and behavioral management strategies. Knowledge of child growth and development and knowledge of current effective teaching practices and the principles of data-driven decision-making and standards-based education.

SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: applying assessment instruments; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

ABILITY is required to schedule a significant number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather, collate, and/or classify data; and consider a number of factors when using equipment. Flexibility is required to independently work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods. Daily attendance and punctuality are required for the purpose of ensuring the goals of the work unit can be met.

Coordinates school-level administration of state, district, national, and local assessments, including scheduling, training, accommodations, student communication, materials management, test security, and required documentation for the purpose of ensuring accurate, secure, and compliant assessment administration for all Lighthouse Virtual Academy students.

3.

Administers and supports the school’s learning management system, including course creation, standardized course structures, instructional templates, accessibility, integrations, troubleshooting, enrollment support, and quality assurance for the purpose of ensuring consistent, accessible, and effective delivery of virtual instruction.

Establishes and applies virtual course-quality standards and supports the design, review, and continuous improvement of synchronous and asynchronous virtual learning experiences for the purpose of ensuring consistent, accessible, engaging, and high-quality instruction across the virtual learning program.

Leads faculty in designing and implementing modules and assessments that incorporate evidence-based virtual instructional practices aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence, other applicable state-adopted standards, accessibility requirements, and Universal Design for Learning principles for the purpose of providing rigorous, accessible, and standards-aligned instruction that improves student engagement and academic achievement.

Leads faculty in developing course materials and designing modules for the purpose of delivering virtual courses through the district Learning Management System (LMS).

7.

Leads faculty in collecting and analyzing student achievement, attendance, engagement, assessment, student work, and program implementation data for the purpose of identifying student needs, planning targeted instruction and interventions, monitoring progress, and improving the effectiveness of the virtual learning program.

8.

Plans, develops, facilitates, and evaluates professional learning related to virtual instruction, instructional design, digital tools, assessment, accessibility, and student engagement for the purpose of strengthening instructional practices and improving the quality and consistency of virtual learning experiences.

9.

Coordinates instructional and technology onboarding for new teachers, contracted instructors, and staff for the purpose of ensuring they are prepared to effectively use required systems, follow established procedures, and deliver high-quality virtual instruction.

10.

Serves as a liaison with contracted virtual learning partners to support communication, course implementation, student access, instructional alignment, and the delivery of virtual learning services for the purpose of ensuring effective coordination, consistent instructional expectations, and equitable access to high-quality virtual course offerings.

Coordinates with the Program for Exceptional Students, Section 504, gifted education, counseling, and instructional staff to support the implementation of individualized plans and ensure accessibility within the virtual learning environment for the purpose of providing appropriate services, accommodations, and instructional support based on students’ individual needs.

Coordinates with Program for Exceptional Students, Section 504, gifted education, counseling, instructional staff, and families to support appropriate instructional goals, accommodations, accessibility, and student services for the purpose of ensuring that students receive individualized support and equitable access to the virtual learning environment.

13.

Coordinates the advanced learning programs of the Lighthouse Virtual Academy for the purpose of ensuring accelerated learning for advanced students.

14.

Leads the faculty in remediation strategies to use during asynchronous time for students who do not meet learning objectives for the purpose of increasing academic performance

15.

Guides and assists grade levels in developing common assessments for the purpose of gathering data that will be used to target specific content areas.

16.

Leads faculty in developing virtual classroom management strategies that foster a climate conducive to academic achievement for students in all subgroups for the purpose of raising achievement and addressing all students' academic needs.

17.

Leads faculty in using flexible grouping for the purpose of addressing academic deficiencies appropriately and providing opportunities to accelerate academic performance;

18.

Leads faculty in securing appropriate resources for the purpose of implementing the School Improvement Plan.

19.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
