Job Description
The role of an Application Testing Specialist involves conducting testing activities to ensure the quality and functionality of software applications. Under the guidance of senior testers, you will create test cases, execute tests, and report defects. This role focuses on learning testing methodologies, analysing test results, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. You will contribute to improving testing processes and maintaining high standards of software quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of test plans and test cases based on requirements.
- Conduct functional and regression testing of applications.
- Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools.
- Work with developers and business analysts to understand requirements and resolve issues.
- Provide detailed test reports and metrics to stakeholders.
- Ensure testing processes comply with industry standards and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Develop and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Review requirements and design specifications to ensure testability.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Perform both manual and automated testing.
- Identify, document, and track defects.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce and resolve defects.
- Ensure that the software meets the specified requirements and quality standards.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on quality aspects.
- Create and maintain test reports, metrics, and documentation.
- Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to stakeholders.
- Stay updated with the latest testing tools, techniques, and industry trends.
- Propose and implement process improvements for testing activities.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of an Agile team.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in application testing using skills specified in the document.
- Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Federal Consulting Industry Experience Preferred
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are beneficial.
