As a Database Developer, you will assist in the development and maintenance of databases under the guidance of senior developers. You will participate in database design activities, write SQL queries, and perform data modelling tasks. This role emphasizes learning database development practices, contributing to database optimization efforts, and supporting application teams in database-related activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for database design, development, performance tuning, and incident management, collaborating with network operations teams to support overall network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and maintenance of databases under supervision.
• Help monitor and report on database performance issues.
• Support data integration and ETL processes.
• Assist in the execution of backup and recovery plans.
• Support the implementation of database security measures.
• Work with team members to understand requirements and assist in problem resolution.
• Help in maintaining documentation for database schemas and procedures.
• Ensure databases are set up according to organizational standards and operational requirements.
• Continuously monitor database performance and resource utilization to identify and resolve issues.
• Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies to enhance database efficiency.
• Implement and enforce security measures to protect database systems from unauthorized access and threats.
• Conduct regular security assessments and apply necessary patches and updates to maintain database integrity.
• Manage and execute backup and recovery processes for databases to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Ensure databases are set up according to organizational standards and operational requirements.
• Continuously monitor database performance and resource utilization to identify and resolve issues.
• Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies to enhance database efficiency.
• Implement and enforce security measures to protect database systems from unauthorized access and threats.
• Conduct regular security assessments and apply necessary patches and updates to maintain database integrity.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience working with MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS.
• Basic knowledge of database design, SQL programming, and performance tuning.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
• Basic problem-solving skills to assist in database management.
• Basic communication skills to interact with team members.

Preferred

• Relevant certifications or coursework in database management are advantageous.
• Federal Consulting Industry Experience Preferred
