ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises and coordinates activities in the Production Area. Responsible for team members assigned to this area, the production schedule, equipment maintenance, and material usage. Maintains written documentation of all activities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or GED- Two years of experience as a Lead Production Technician at Oneda Corporation or two years as a Lead Technician or supervisor in a similar manufacturing environmentPreferred- Three years or more as a Lead Production Technician or supervisor in a similar industry- Technical vocational and/or two- to four-year college education DUTIES- Supervises and assigns team members to production schedules; monitors workflow across areas/shifts; updates schedule board- Communicates work assignments with Lead Production Technicians- Adjusts schedule to maximize machinery/resources when unforeseen events occur- Tracks equipment status via ERP; follows up as needed- Trains team members to operate machines safely to produce quality parts- Monitors equipment/material consumption to minimize waste- Enforces policies/procedures with emphasis on safety- Responsible for product quality; recommends corrective actions per policies/procedures- Acts as liaison for team member suggestions, grievances, and needs; communicates responses and relevant information- Communicates regularly with Assistant Plant Manager and other departments; prepares Production Report- Schedules work time, considering overtime and vacations- Accountable for accurate production documentation (job sheet, lot control, scrap reporting, ERP usage)- Maintains plant facility in neat, organized mannerOther Duties- Aids in job functions of the area as needed- Operates forklift as needed, following company policies and procedures SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES- Observes, evaluates, and documents performance, absenteeism, tardiness; receives input from Lead Production Technicians- Recommends promotions, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary measures after review TRAINING REQUIREMENTS- Forklift Certification QUALITY STANDARDS- Provides leadership in implementing/maintaining quality, environmental, and company policies and procedures through communication and training; ensures products meet established requirements PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Sitting or standing on hard surface for extended periods; continual movement of hands/arms; bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs; reading/computer work; vision minimum 20/40 (with or without correction) PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT- Safety shoes, glasses, ear plugs, and gloves (as required/desired) in production area including die shop and warehouse; appropriate PPE when operating forklift WORK ENVIRONMENT- Temperature-controlled plant with loud noises from presses; work may be dusty, dirty, greasy; may handle sharp-edged material This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
