ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises and coordinates activities in the Production Area. Responsible for team members in the area, the production schedule, equipment maintenance, and material usage. Maintains written documentation of all activities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or GED- Two years as a Lead Production Technician at Oneda Corporation or two years as a Lead Technician/supervisor in a similar manufacturing environmentPreferred- Three or more years as a Lead Production Technician or supervisor in a similar industry- Technical vocational and/or two to four years of college education DUTIES- Supervises and assigns team members to production schedules; monitors flow between areas; ensures schedules are met; updates schedule board- Distributes/discusses work assignments with Lead Production Technicians and ensures priorities are understood- Adjusts schedules to maximize equipment and resources when issues arise (e.g., die problems)- Tracks equipment status with ERP system; follows up as needed- Trains team members to operate machines safely to produce quality parts- Monitors equipment and material use to minimize waste- Enforces company policies/procedures with emphasis on safety- Responsible for product quality; recommends corrective actions per procedures- Liaison for team member suggestions, grievances, and needs; communicates responses- Communicates regularly with Assistant Plant Manager and other departments (e.g., Production Report)- Schedules work time, including overtime and vacations- Accountable for accurate production documentation (job sheets, lot control, scrap reporting, ERP usage)- Maintains plant facility in a neat and organized mannerOther Duties- Assists with area job functions as needed- Operates a forklift as needed, following policies and procedures SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES- Observes, evaluates, and documents team member performance, absenteeism, and tardiness; gathers input from Leads- Recommends personnel actions (promotions, transfers, terminations, disciplinary measures) TRAINING REQUIREMENTS- Forklift Certification QUALITY STANDARDS- Provides leadership to implement and maintain quality, environmental, and company policies/procedures; ensures products meet requirements via training and communication PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Sitting or standing on hard surface for extended periods; continual hand/arm movement; bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 lbs; reading and computer work; vision minimum 20/40 (with/without correction) PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT- Safety shoes, glasses, ear plugs, gloves (as required/desired) in production areas including die shop and warehouse; appropriate PPE when operating a forklift WORK ENVIRONMENT- Temperature-controlled plant; loud noises from presses; dusty, dirty, greasy; may handle sharp-edged material This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities.
