ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises and coordinates activities in the Production Area. Is responsible for all team members assigned to this area, the production schedule, equipment maintenance, and material usage. Maintains written documentation of all activities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or GED- Two years of experience as a Lead Production Technician at Oneda Corporation or two years of experience as a Lead Technician or supervisor in a similar manufacturing environmentPreferred- Three years or more of experience as a Lead Production Technician or supervisor in a similar industry- Technical vocational and/or two- four years of college educationDUTIES- Supervises and assigns team members to the production schedules; monitoring the flow of work between the different areas to ensure the schedule is met for all shifts, ensuring the schedule board is updated- Distributes and discusses the work assignments with the Lead Production Technicians to ensure priorities are understood- Adjusts the production schedule to maximize machinery usage and other resources when unforeseen events occur, such as die problems, etc.- Remains abreast of all equipment statuses, with the aid of the ERP system, following up as needed- Responsible for training of team members to operate machines to produce quality parts safely- Monitors use of equipment and consumption of materials to minimize waste- Enforces company policies and procedures with emphasis on safety requirements- Responsible for product quality, with the aid of appropriate tools, recommending corrective action(s), as needed using the appropriate policies and procedures- Acts as the liaison for team member suggestions, grievances, and needs; presenting the responses, as well as other relevant information to team members- Communicates regularly with the Assistant Plant Manager and other departments the activities (for example, the Production Report) and concerns of the working area- Schedules the work time taking into account overtime and vacation- Accountable for correct production documentation, such as job sheet, lot control sheet, scrap reporting, use of the ERP system, etc.- Maintains the plant facility in a neat and organized mannerOther Duties- Aids in all job functions of the area as needed- Operates a forklift as needed, ensuring all Oneda Corporation’s policies and procedures are followedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES- Observes, evaluates, and documents team members job performance, absenteeism, and tardiness; receiving input from Lead Production Technicians- Recommends personnel actions, such as: promotions, transfers, terminations, and disciplinary measures after careful reviewTRAINING REQUIREMENTS- Forklift CertificationQUALITY STANDARDS- Provides leadership and direction in implementing and maintaining established quality, environmental, and company policies and procedures through communication and training both oral and written to all team members; ensuring all products are produced efficiently and effectively to meet the established requirements.PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Works in a sitting or standing position, on a hard surface, for extended periods of time, with continual movement of hands and arms. Is required to bend, stoop, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.). Vision minimum is 20/40 near and distant (with or without corrective lenses). Is required to read and perform computer work.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT- Is required to wear safety shoes, glasses, ear plugs, and gloves (as required/desired) while in the production area, this includes the die shop and warehouse. Is required to wear appropriate protective equipment while operating a forklift.WORK ENVIRONMENT- Works in a temperature-controlled plant, where there are loud noises from presses.
