ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Production Supervisor and more skilled Production staff, operates press machines, robot press lines, or welding machines to produce precision stamped metal components; assists in equipment set up and changeovers; performs troubleshooting, repairs, and adjustments as needed. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; some experience as a machine operator; ability to perform basic computer functions and basic mathematical calculations. Preferred: one or more years as a machine operator; two or more years of progressive production experience in press operations. DUTIES: Machinery (produce stamped parts free from defects with automated press lines and manual presses; visually inspect dies and make minor adjustments under supervision; ensure correct packing labels; assist stacking/loading parts; assist setups including robotic arms/tables; verify first vs. last piece; inspect parts per specifications). Finishing/Inspection (inspect/repack parts for completion of processes such as tapped holes and spot welds; check critical dimensions using jigs/fixtures/pin gages; rework/repair parts on presses or other machines as instructed, including brushing/grinding). Other Duties (verify starting parts with process check sheet and ERP; assemble and pack per standards with accurate counts; dispose of scrap per policy; alert supervisor on issues; organize tools/parts and clean area; maintain daily documentation and minimal ERP entries; document inspections; inform area leader on corrective actions; train under guidance toward Production Operator skills). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: None. QUALITY STANDARDS: Knowledge of quality, environmental, and company policies and procedures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing or sitting for extended periods on hard surface with continual movement of arms/hands; stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs; reading and computer work; vision minimum 20/40. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Safety shoes, glasses, ear plugs, and gloves in production areas. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Semi–temperature-controlled plant with loud noises from presses; dusty, dirty, greasy; exposure to sharp edged materials and chemicals in oil.
