Collins Aerospace, Power & Controls is looking for a Product Cybersecurity Engineer to safeguard our advanced Electric Power Systems (EPS) for next-gen airborne control systems. In this role, you’ll lead security risk analysis, integrate cybersecurity functions, perform testing, and support compliance and certification efforts aligned with industry standards.
You'll partner closely with product development teams, embedding security throughout the entire product lifecycle, and helping shape a strong product security culture through training and mentorship.
What You Will Do
Serve as a key member of the Power & Controls Product Security Board, influencing security strategy and direction.
Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Product Cybersecurity Risk Management for EPS programs at a program and organizational level.
Build, mentor, and develop Product Security expertise across the organization.
Define, refine, and enforce processes to meet internal, industry, and regulatory cybersecurity requirements.
Lead and oversee security risk assessments and provide guidance to program teams.
Direct the development of key technologies and standard security functionality, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Establish and apply advanced security testing and analysis methodologies.
Collaborate across labs, operations, and repair sites to set organizational security requirements.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, certifications, and airworthiness security regulations.
Interpret and guide responses to customer and certification cybersecurity requirements.
Lead incident response and resolution for EPS cybersecurity events, shaping organizational practices.
Support integration of Collins-developed security technologies across programs.
Evaluate, guide, and contribute to technical proposals from a strategic and technical leadership perspective.
Champion adherence to DO-326A/DO-356A Airworthiness Security processes and the Secure System Development Lifecycle (SSDLC).
Act as an organizational authority on cybersecurity, setting standards and mentoring teams to elevate enterprise-wide capabilities.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience collaborating with system architects to incorporate new security technologies
Ability to promote and guide architectural solutions following defense-in-depth principles
Proficiency in analyzing system and application-level security architectures
Experience reviewing system and application vulnerability assessments and defining mitigations
Experience in preparing and reviewing project bids and pursuits
Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) for device certificate management
Experience supporting the design and development of hardware and software Roots of Trust (RoT)
Experience supporting the development of embedded cryptographic solutions and secure communication systems
Working knowledge of RTCA DO-326A and DO-356A airworthiness security standards
Breadth of understanding in systems and software engineering, especially for embedded control systems
Industry-recognized security certifications such as Security+, OSCP, or CISSP (preferred)
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
