The Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer (CSAE) is the primary quality interface between Raytheon’s organization and the external supply base. The International CSAE is responsible for ensuring suppliers meet requirements, resolve quality issues, provide performance feedback, and implement continuous improvement ideas to ensure on time compliant delivered hardware. This role requires excellent communication skills, meeting facilitation, and the ability to create and sustain healthy supplier relationships. The CSAE is a key player as the liaison between the supply base and Raytheon’s internal functional groups for activities such as international supplier source selection, risk mitigation, strategic planning, and development of key international suppliers. This role is for the Arctic Region consisting of North America/South America, UK, Denmark, and the Scandinavian Countries. The CSAE represents Raytheon professionally and supports Raytheon’s Vision, Values, Strategy and Goals in the supply base.

This position is a remote assignment as a Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer. This assignment requires an estimated minimum travel of 50% to international suppliers in the Arctic Region reporting to the International Commodity Supplier Assurance Senior Manager.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Developing process improvement strategies and risk mitigation activities to be utilized across supply base
  • Closely interface with external/internal customers and key partners to establishing effective relationships
  • Must have the ability to manage issues at multiple stakeholder levels
  • Leveraging quality assurance to influence business decision-makers, ensuring efforts are focused on the customer’s priorities and mission success requirements
  • Interpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding
  • Ensuring flow down of Product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers and ensuring compliance with quality requirements
  • Assessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives
  • Identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plans
  • Driving continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and lean methodologies
  • Working with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills
  • Supports the First Article Verification and Source Inspection
  • Manage Supplier Requests including presenting to the Change Control Board (CCB) and Customer.
  • Perform Raytheon Enterprise Supplier Assessment (RESA) Chapter 1-7 assessments
  • Manage the Technical Data Package(s) being manufactured at supplier.
  • Perform Supplier Engineering Price Analysis Support (SEPA) and Cost Analysis Technical Evaluation Requests (CATER) for Supply Chain
  • Understand Raytheon Global Export Management System (RGEMS) and License and Agreements for (EXIM).
  • Perform Capacity Analysis
  • Perform Hardware Acceptance Reviews on deliverable hardware.
  • Travel 50% internationally – valid passport required

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • A university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience
    • Relevant experience is work in engineering, quality, or supplier management/auditing
  • Experience managing and leading suppliers with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.
  • Experience working process improvement initiatives
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data for decision making
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)
  • Experience in Department of War product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and delivery
  • Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor
  • Experience working within commercial and aerospace / defense regulations and standards - AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145
  • Experience with industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)
  • Experience in collaborating with engineering, manufacturing operations, and supply chain

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
