The Supplier Commodity Assurance Engineer (CSAE) is the primary engineering interface between Raytheon and our external supply base. The CSAE provides both communication of requirements and performance feedback to the supplier as well as a conduit for quality information back to internal functions, a key player in the management of Supplier’s performance and development. The CSAE will be involved in all aspects of planning and execution of our wide range of weapon systems, ranging from tactical missiles to strategic defense products. You will be responsible for ensuring the supplier meets Raytheon’s quality, cost and schedule. You will drive Raytheon design requirements to improve manufacturing and quality capabilities of suppliers.
This role is for a Commodity Supplier Assurance Engineer supporting the mechanical commodity supply base, specifically for machining and hardware components team.
What You Will Do:
- Communicate and translate technical data packages to assigned suppliers
- Interpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding
- Develop and conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and prevention/reduction of quality risk
- Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
- Identifying supplier risk and systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plans
- Working with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills
- Manage supplier requests for product/process changes
- Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
- Effectively communicate technical and quality health/requirements of our suppliers to stakeholders
- Support travel as needed (40%)
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Quality, and/or Supplier Engineering or Supplier Management
- Practical knowledge of Aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools – APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, etc.
- Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action processes
- Work history with Management System regulations and standards- AS9100, AS9102, ISO-9000, AS9145
- The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- General understanding of commercial and aerospace / defense Quality
- Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/ customers
- Experience with design and development of products that fall within the electrical or mechanical engineering discipline.
- Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor
- Experience in performing supplier assessments
- Experience working remotely
- General knowledge of aerospace / defense products and systems technologies

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
