RTX has an opening for a Sr. Manager, Product Manager - Hardware & Software Asset Management (HAM/SAM) (Sr. Manager, Information Workplace Services) position.
The Product Manager for Hardware & Software Asset Management (HAM/SAM) is responsible for the strategic ownership, evolution, and delivery of ServiceNow’s Hardware Asset Management and Software Asset Management capabilities. This role blends product management discipline, hands‑on business analysis, and delivery oversight to ensure asset lifecycle processes are accurate, automated, compliant, and scalable across a large, global enterprise.
This position serves as the primary bridge between IT Asset Management stakeholders, Enterprise Services, security, finance, platform teams, developers, and vendors—owning the full product lifecycle from demand intake through roadmap execution and post‑release optimization.
The scope of this role includes the end‑to‑end lifecycle management of hardware and software assets, including request, procurement, inventory, deployment, reclamation, disposal, software licensing, compliance, and optimization.
What You Will Do:
Product Strategy & Vision
• Own and articulate the product vision and strategy for Hardware and Software Asset Management.
• Conduct market research, platform benchmarking, and trend analysis to identify best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging capabilities in IT asset management.
• Define and maintain a multi‑year product roadmap aligned to enterprise IT priorities, audit and compliance needs, financial optimization goals, and the broader ServiceNow platform strategy.
• Establish and enforce product governance, including intake standards, prioritization frameworks, lifecycle management, compliance alignment, and value realization metrics.
Business Partnership & Leadership
• Serve as the primary executive‑facing point of contact for the end‑to‑end hardware and software asset management experience delivered through ServiceNow HAM/SAM.
• Build and sustain trusted partnerships with IT Asset Management (ITAM), Finance, Procurement, Security, Infrastructure, and cross‑functional operational teams.
• Lead strategic discovery sessions to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, cost reduction, risk mitigation, and user experience improvement across asset lifecycle processes.
• Act as a thought partner on ServiceNow HAM/SAM capabilities and best practices, guiding leaders toward the right investments.
Demand, Stakeholder & Value Management
• Lead demand management, ensuring transparent, outcome‑driven prioritization across global IT and business stakeholders.
• Balance strategic initiatives, compliance mandates, audit requirements, operational priorities, and platform health.
• Define and track product success metrics including accuracy, compliance, asset lifecycle efficiency, licensing optimization, cost savings, automation effectiveness, and user satisfaction.
• Deliver regular reporting on outcomes, risks, value delivered, and roadmap progress to senior leadership.
Product Development & Backlog Ownership
• Translate product strategy into epics, features, and a prioritized product backlog for HAM and SAM.
• Define feature‑level functional requirements, asset lifecycle workflows, integrations, business rules, and service design in partnership with architects and platform engineering.
• Lead backlog refinement to ensure user stories are well defined, estimated, and sequenced for development.
• Maintain clear and high‑quality documentation to support development, testing, operations, audits, and ongoing asset governance.
Platform Stewardship & Continuous Improvement
• Stay current on ServiceNow HAM/SAM capabilities, releases, roadmaps, integrations, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or retire legacy asset workflows, manual processes, and unsupported customizations.
• Promote intuitive, compliant, and automated asset management experiences across the enterprise.
• Ensure all solutions align to platform standards, architectural principles, auditability requirements, and long‑term scalability.
Qualifications You Must Have:
• Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in ServiceNow HW/SW Asset Management and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or a related field or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree.
• 10+ years Hands‑on experience with ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management and/or Software Asset Management (HAM/SAM).
• 5+ years using product management practices including roadmap planning, prioritization, value measurement, and governance.
• Proven ability to perform business analysis, write high‑quality requirements, and support delivery teams.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models.
Qualifications We Prefer:
• ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS‑HAM, CIS‑SAM, or other domain‑specific certifications)
• Experience in large, highly regulated, or global organizations
• Experience with the broader ServiceNow platform
• Experience partnering with system integrators or managed service providers
• Experience or certification with Agile or Scaled Agile Framework

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
