Job Summary: Join Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Forge team as a Machining Working Lead and play a key role in leading daily machining operations that support some of the world's most advanced aerospace products. In this role, you will combine hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, serving as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting manufacturing challenges, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and helping develop the next generation of machinists while ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are achieved.

This is a 2nd Shift position, Monday - Thursday, 4:00pm-2:30am

What You Will Do:

  • Lead by example on the production floor by providing technical guidance, mentoring team members, and helping resolve machining and process-related issues.
  • Support daily manufacturing operations by completing production transactions, maintaining work-in-process status, coordinating tools and supplies, and promoting a safe, organized work environment.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC and related machining equipment to produce high-quality aerospace components while meeting safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, work instructions, and precision measurements to ensure parts meet engineering specifications.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, basic equipment repairs, tooling adjustments, deburring, cleaning, and inspection activities to support reliable operations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with Okuma and/or Fanuc controlled 4-Axis turning lathes
  • Previous experience leading, training, or mentoring manufacturing team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing systems (e.g., SAP or MRP).
  • Experience in aerospace, forging, or other precision manufacturing environments.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
