Springer Opera House is seeking a full time employee to serve as Director of Maintenance. This position daily serves as principal ‘handy-man’ repairing and maintaining both the interior and exterior of the building. They also serve as the point of contact for all outside vendors (electrical, HVAC, custodial, plumbing, fire panel, etc.) Ideal candidates would be proactive and independent workers executing monthly and quarterly inspections of all systems as needed. They would execute repairs as within their scope of skills, or prioritize and coordinate with outside vendors for specialized needs. The Director of Maintenance also creates a monthly facility cleaning schedule and ensures cleaning products and paper goods are stocked. Daily work will include event set up/strike, daily check of the HVAC control system and making temperature adjustments as needed. Daily walk through of the building to ensure that all spaces are prepared before patron facing activities ensuring any ongoing facility concerns are addressed, and other duties as assigned. The Director of Maintenance will also coordinate all needed yearly inspections including elevators, fire alarm, sprinkler system, kitchen hood, backflow prevention, etc. The Director of Maintenance is a part of the Springer Administrative staff and reports directly to the Director of Operations.
