Nurse Apprentice, PRN Nights

St. Francis is NOW HIRING!!! Join our Emergency Department as a Nurse Apprentice and gain experience while in school!

This position is for current nursing students enrolled in a ADN or BSN program with at LEAST Fundamentals of Nursing completed.

Shift will be 7pm to 7am

As a Nurse Apprentice you will:

Serves as a multi-functional member of the patient care team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Support the RN staff through regularly organizing and facilitating basic patient care activities, unit secretary functions, performing 12 lead EKG’s, and functioning as a Monitor Tech. This position can also perform basic nursing tasks as described below. Accurately and promptly communicate with the nursing staff, patient, family, and patient care team as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent, REQUIRED
• Current Enrollment and good standing in an accredited school of nursing, with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing, REQUIRED
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
