Job Summary

Serves as pilot-in-command, ensuring that corporate aircraft operations are conducted safely and efficiently. Responsible for the safety, security and comfort of the passengers and crew.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acts as pilot in command (PIC) of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled.
  • Provides excellent customer service to passengers.
  • Complies with schedules and other directives governing the aircraft operation.
  • Ensures that preflight inspections are performed.
  • Studies weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points.
  • Prepares flight plans, considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, range, weight, airport facilities, and navigational aids.
  • Ensures that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers.
  • Reviews and calculates the aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board and performance charts.
  • Uses checklists in accordance with the flight operations manual.
  • Supervises the First Officer (second in command) in any duties necessary for the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the aircraft.
  • Makes decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights and deviate the flight from planned route or destination when conditions dictate
  • Coordinates the functioning of all crew members assigned to the flight (briefing weather, performance, Flight Risk Assessment, iPad setup).
  • Monitors crew performance, shares knowledge with crewmembers and evaluates crewmember potential for advancement.
  • Ensures required passenger ground handling and transportation is in place.
  • Maintains currency and efficiency on assigned aircraft. Maintains an understanding of the normal procedures, emergency operating procedures and all operating systems of the aircraft
  • Being familiar with and following all FARs and company policies pertinent to assigned duties.
  • Completes required post flight paperwork and maintenance actions at the conclusion of the flight.
  • Reports known or suspected FAA or company policy violations or incidents promptly to the Director of Aviation.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required (Stockroom, Aircraft currency, Training currency, Safety management, etc)

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or completion of GED equivalent. Bachelors degree is preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • Five years of Aviation experience including Pilot in Command experience. Corporate experience preferred. 3000 hours preferred.

Certifications:

  • 1) Airline Transport Pilot Certificate issued by FAA
  • 2) Current 1st Class FAA Medical
  • 3) Current Valid US Passport

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledgeable about FAA rules and regulations.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Superior Customer Service skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise a flight crew.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Experience flying the Embraer Legacy type aircraft.
  • Three thousand (3000) hours of jet/turbine time.
