JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a driven, hands-on technologist who is deeply passionate about providing highly-available, secure, efficient data access for our customers. We are the global leader in Invoice Automation, and we deploy and manage our multi-tenant, cloud-based solution in multiple locations around the globe. This position will optimize and grow the foundation we’ve built within the Oracle DBMS. As a DBA, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining both on-premise and cloud-based Oracle Database deployments while also partnering w/ the Engineering and Services teams to optimize queries and resource consumption.
JOB DUTIES
Provide the highest technical expertise for our Oracle databases running critical customer facing cloud/on-premises Enterprise product
Deploy, configure and manage the Oracle DBMS
Provide administrative functions (updates, maintenance, performance tuning/optimization, governance, troubleshooting, etc.) for our Oracle Databases
Utilize existing or new technology to assist in the automation of processes to monitor and diagnose system health, drive triage and making sure operations are running without issue
Partner with Engineering, Services and Support on query optimization(s) and providing any needed support with day to day activities.
Can take initiatives, lead technical teams, participate in technical designs, data flow layouts, capacity planning and disaster recovery of our databases
Can code to automate jobs using shell. Comfortable reviewing AWR reports and recommending areas of improvement of our solution + data model
Automate the consumption and deployment of Oracle critical patch updates
Provide required on-call support for database deployments and 24/7 Operational support
Engage and work with Oracle support as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of experience on Oracle DB, including database design and implementation, administration of multiple instances of an Oracle 11g , 12c and 19c database with exposure to multi-tenant architecture, RAC, Data Guard, Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and data modeling experience
Experience with Rman backup and restore in 12c and 19c multitenant architecture
Experience with high availability, standby, backup and recovery, large database management, compression and partitioning
Experience with patching and upgrading Oracle Databases to 19c
4+ years of experience with other DB’s
Deep knowledge of database concepts, performance tuning, proactive monitoring, and problem solving and analyzing traces using various tools
5+ years of PL/SQL best practices
2+ years observability (logging, alerting, dashboard, APM) tools such as Datadog, NewRelic, Splunk
4+ years with Linux\bash
Experience with Bitbucket/Gitlab, Jira, Confluence
Must be willing to work west coast time (PST)
AWS experience is a big plus
