Job Summary | The Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Criminology at Troy University in Troy, Alabama, invites applications for a tenure-track full-time Assistant or Associate Professor to begin August 1, 2024, or earlier. We seek an interdisciplinary scholar working in any Forensic Science specialization, with preference given to those with expertise in criminalistics or death investigation. Knowledge of FEPAC guidelines and practical experience in forensic science is desired. The department is seeking a colleague whose research supports the growth of our newly established interdisciplinary minor in forensic science and complements the existing strength of the department. The successful candidate should also offer courses that expand and support our current curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Introduction to Forensic Science, Forensic Ethics, and Forensic Evidence, as well as courses in their area of specialization. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to excellent teaching in a liberal arts environment and welcome opportunities to work with, mentor, and advise students with diverse backgrounds, academic interests, and learning styles. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester in a normal academic year. Troy University has a long tradition of in-person and online education, so we seek a candidate who will welcome the opportunity to teach in both formats each semester. Strong research credentials, a promising scholarly agenda, and service to the department, college, university, community, and discipline are also essential. A Ph.D. in Forensic Science, Anthropology, Criminalistics, or closely related fields is required. ABD will be considered. |
