The Lecturer, Certification & Field Experience (CAFE) Director position is responsible for overseeing the management of all certification and field experience tasks related to teacher certification for the College of Education. This includes building relationships with local school districts; working with undergraduate and graduate students; working with faculty in the Department of Teacher Education and Leadership Development and Professional Studies; working with Secondary/P12 faculty in other colleges; placing students for internships and field experience; dealing with issues in the field; certification paperwork; attending state and national meetings; state reporting; and being in the approval chain for academic matters. This position will include a lecturer faculty rank and the management of all internships.

1. Earned doctorate from an accredited university in Teacher Education or related field, OR Master’s degree from an accredited university in Teacher Education (e.g., Elementary Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, Secondary Education) AND 3 years of school administrator experience
2. Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience
3. Expertise in developing relationships with school leaders and the Alabama State Department of Education

2. Experience teaching at the college level
3. Current Professional Educator Certificate
4. Recent K-12 teaching experience in the US
5. Knowledge of Alabama educational initiatives
6. Experience integrating technology in teaching
7. Knowledge of CAEP accreditation expectations
8. Experience in coordination and supervision of clinical field experiences
9. Experience with state reporting
