Job Summary
The Lecturer, Theatre position is responsible for teaching courses in theatre performance, pedagogy, and related areas of theatrical production and/or study; mentoring and advising Theatre and Theatre Education students; leading and/or assisting with outreach activities related to professional, K-12, and community Theatre programs; assisting with curriculum development in existing and future Theatre and Theatre Education degree programs; working to expand, innovate, and integrate Theatre arts with related art forms and content areas; and facilitating collaboration with other areas and departments within the University and the larger community.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in Theatre, Education, or related field
2. Strong background and relevant experience in teaching, education, and arts integration
3. Ability to demonstrate growth-mindset leadership, responsible judgment, strong collaboration skills, and mature interpersonal relationship in supervision of students
4. Ability to encourage a positive work environment by achieving high standards in order to best educate students
Preferred Qualifications
1. Terminal degree in theatre, education, arts/arts integration or related field
2. Extensive teaching experience in the traditional K-12 classroom and/or other teaching venues
3. Relevant research or creative/scholarly activities in the areas of theatre, theatre pedagogy, and/or arts integration
4. Degree or relevant study or experience in theatre, dance, music, creative writing, and/or visual art
5. Experience or connection with external networks, organizations, or entities
6. Strong interest in rural arts education and community service, with emphasis on recruiting and retention of Theatre students in the Southeastern U.S.
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
