The Assistant Professor position in Social Work is a full-time, tenure-track faculty role within the CSWE-accredited undergraduate social work program at Troy University’s Main Campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching across the generalist social work curriculum, including courses such as Human Behavior in the Social Environment (HBSE), Social Policy, Direct Practice, and/or Research Methods.

This position emphasizes excellence in teaching, with a focus on employing innovative, evidence-informed instructional strategies and delivery methods. The candidate will contribute to curriculum development and will support the continued development of web-based and hybrid educational materials that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Additional responsibilities include engaging in research and scholarship in the field of social work, pursuing grant writing opportunities, and providing academic advising and mentorship to students. The candidate is also expected to actively participate in departmental service activities, program assessment and accreditation efforts, and provide service to the university and the broader community.

1. MSW from a CSWE Accredited Program
2. DSW, Ph.D., ABD, or doctoral degree in a related field.

2. Able to publish in peer reviewed journals
3. Interested in writing proposals for external funding
