| Job Summary | The Undergraduate Research Assistant position in Biological and Environmental Sciences will be part of a series of aquatic surveys and associated lab work. Duties may include preparation of field gear, collecting invertebrates, quantifying habitat, animal holding and maintenance, mesocosm construction, lab experimentation, entering data into Excel, and associated tasks . Some driving may be required. |
| Minimum Qualifications | 1) Must be a Troy University student 2) Must have flexible summer schedule 3) Ability to swim 4) Ability to perform as part of a team under strenuous conditions |
| Preferred Qualifications | Field experience in biological collections. Interest in freshwater mussels and/or crayfish. |
| Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? | Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility |
| Work Hours | M-F as weather and river conditions allow. |
| List any hazardous conditions or physical demands required by this position | Field work includes being exposed to various climatic conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.) and is physically/mentally demanding. This position will require heavy lifting, being submerged for long period of time, and exposure to the elements. |
