| Job Summary | The Graduate Assistant supports the Office of Civic Engagement through the coordination and implementation of civic engagement programs, service projects, presentations, and special events. This position works closely with undergraduate student leaders and volunteers to facilitate meaningful service experiences that address community needs while promoting student learning and development. Responsibilities include assisting with volunteer management, community partnerships, outreach efforts, social media and marketing, and promoting office programs and opportunities to students, faculty, and community stakeholders. The Graduate Assistant represents the office through presentations, recruitment efforts, and campus engagement activities while helping increase awareness of civic engagement initiatives. The position also provides administrative support and assists with the day-to-day operations of the office to ensure programs and services run efficiently. |
| Minimum Qualifications | 1. Must be a Troy University graduate student enrolled in at least six credit hours with a minimum 3.0 GPA. 2. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF management. 4. Strong organizational skills, professionalism, confidentiality, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently. 5. Interest or experience in civic engagement, volunteer management, student affairs, or community partnerships. Please note: Student positions are FICA/Medicare exempt only if students are enrolled in classes in the semester work is performed. To qualify for the FICA/Medicare exemption, you must be enrolled on a half-time basis for the Fall, Spring, or Summer. |
