Position Overview
Troy University invites applications for an Administrative Assistant to support the inaugural Doctor of Chiropractic (DCP) Program within the College of Health Sciences at the Dothan Campus. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join one of the most significant new healthcare educational programs in the Southeast — the first public university Doctor of Chiropractic program in Alabama history. The Administrative Assistant provides essential operational, administrative, and student services support to the DCP Program Director, faculty, and staff during the critical program launch, accreditation candidacy phase, and subsequently during common DCP operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the DCP Program Director and faculty, including calendar management, correspondence, scheduling, and meeting coordination
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and enrolled student inquiries, directing communications to appropriate faculty and staff
  • Maintain program files, accreditation documentation, faculty credentials files, and student records in accordance with FERPA and CCE accreditation requirements
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of accreditation self-study documentation, reports, and materials for the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE)
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, event planning, and meeting logistics for program activities
  • Support procurement, purchase orders, and expense reporting processes
  • Process and track faculty and staff HR actions in coordination with Troy University Human Resources
  • Operate standard office equipment and maintain organized office systems

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of administrative or office support experience in a professional, healthcare, or higher education environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency with Adobe.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Prior administrative experience in a healthcare professional degree program (chiropractic, medical, dental, nursing, or allied health).
  • Familiarity with accreditation documentation or academic program administration.
  • Experience with student information systems (Canvas, Banner, PeopleSoft, or equivalent).
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility
Work Hours
40 hours per week.
