| Job Summary | The Director position in the Student Services Business Office (under the supervision of the Controller’s Office) assists the Student Services Department with management and oversight of fiscal operations to include tax compliance, budgeting services, payment services, monitoring of internal controls, and financial reporting to the Controller’s Office. Essential Functions: - Advises, establishes, maintains, and monitors a strong system of financial and internal controls for the Student Services Department in coordination with the Dean of Student Services. - Builds and maintains financial templates and reports as needed in the current financial reporting software. Prepares financial reports, department allocation reports, inventory reports or other specialized reports on a regular or ad hoc basis. - Assists in the development of the annual budget as well as detailed monthly analysis of Student Services revenue and spend history. Reviews, analyzes, approves, and prepares budget transfers and other accounting allocations. - Assists the Controller’s Office and Foundation Accounting with the tracking, reporting, and compliance of all Student Services Department transactions. Prepares and reviews expense vouchers, invoices, purchase requisitions or other transactions for one or more departments, in compliance with approved budgets, University and/or Foundation policy and with appropriate delegation of tasks to the Student Services Staff Accountant. - Assists with the fiscal year-end process and preparation of the annual financial report to include reconciliation and review of financial accounts or processes as needed throughout the year. - Assist the Controller’s Office as needed and assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including providing support for accounting, financial reporting, and other operational functions. |
| Minimum Qualifications | 1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution. 2. Minimum of five years of accounting, budget and/or financial management experience at progressively responsible levels. |
| Preferred Qualifications | 1. Master’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution 2. Experience at an institution of higher education in budgeting or accounting services functions |
