Job Summary
The University Archivist position in the Library is a professional staff position and is responsible for serving as a senior advisor to university leadership in the development of the archives, and providing expertise in accepted standards and best practices of archival administration.
Minimum Qualifications
1. ALA accredited MLS or graduate degree in archival studies or related advanced subject degree with coursework or equivalent experience in archives and/or manuscripts.
2. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
3. Effective organizational skills.
4. Ability to pay attention to detail and manage time effectively.
5. Experience with information technology applications in the archives or library environment, including imaging and editing technology.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience encoding finding aids using EAD (Encoded Archival Description)
2. Experience with records management methodologies and technologies, including management of electronic records.

Work Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m—5:00pm Additional hours may be occasionally be needed. There will be occasional evening and weekend hours.
