THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is for a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, Position Description Number D1290000 located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-Georgia, Surface Maintenance Facility at FMS Moore, Columbus, GA. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: Open to current on-board Technicians in the Georgia Army National Guard.Major Duties
As a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor, WS-5801-10, you will: Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Ensure work in progress and completed work meets established standards by implementation of a Quality Control and Assurance program within the organization. Determine training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Implement and complies with agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements. Develop, publish, and ensure employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Initiate recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates. Manage maintenance backlog through coordination with other maintenance activities. Recommend solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Assist the supervisor with quarterly funding distribution and decisions, based on operational needs for units supported by customer activities. Review funding requirements, prioritizes request and allocates funding based on readiness, training, and mobilization requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.Evaluations
