Vectorply, a world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of high performance composite fabrics, is a privately-owned company with headquarters in Phenix City, AL. Vectorply employs approximately 200 employees between administration, sales and production and produces more that 350 distinctive styles of reinforcement fabrics for a wide variety of composites applications.
Due to continued growth, we are hiring a Multi-Craft Technician to add to our team. Overtime will be available.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for improving and maintaining the overall operations of the plant facility and manufacturing process with a sense of urgency, driven by customer demand and business goals. A Multi-Craft Technician at Vectorply requires knowledge and experience for mechanical and electrical systems and processes. This includes preventative maintenance programs, machine troubleshooting, and machine upgrades to ensure quality products and continuous improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Trouble shoot and repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns on manufacturing machinery.
· Service and maintain equipment including motors, conveyors, gears, gear boxes, bearings, pullies, etc. with a sense of urgency.
· Communicate efficiently with machine breakdowns.
· Effective communications with the production team and supervision.
· Ensure all work is done and all equipment is maintained in a safe operating manner.
· Assist with safety checks and corrective actions in the plant.
· Understand Lock Out/Tag Out rules and processes.
