The Opportunity

The purpose of the Prepress Coordinator role is to be a point of contact between our customers and internal departments to facilitate the timely creation and use of photopolymer printing plates for large format flexographic printing.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

  • Serve as advocate and point of contact between our customer and internal prepress department
  • Order Intake and initiation of pricing, print card, and printing plate requests
  • Define and translate customer instructions into Job Tracker database
  • Collect and organize digital assets for use in pricing, graphic and production departments
  • Accurate pricing of material, manufacturing and service costs required by customer
  • Control point for data accuracy in the estimating system
  • Collect / Audit Customer and Press Specifications.
  • Priortize and organize daily workload
  • Ensure all customers needs are met on a timely basis
  • Establish goals, track results
  • Tracking monthly financial results against budget / forecast for customers serviced
  • Be accountable for internalizing plate spend of locations serviced
  • Collaborate with Team Members and Management to develop creative corrective actions / solutions to customer issues or gaps in process to improve quality, lower cost and accelerate speed to market
  • Perform / schedule audits and training on the use and maintenance of photo polymer printing plates
  • Assure that on a daily basis all company standards and Customer Commitments are met
  • Work Safely at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist anywhere needed

What you need to succeed:

  • Experience with Flexographic Printing preferred
  • Microsoft Office and Mac Experience Required
  • Adobe Illustrator Preferred
  • Experience in Customer Service Required
  • Strong written & oral communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management skills - ability to be proactive and acknowledge priority
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and develop teamwork
  • Ability to work independently; Self Starter
  • Highschool or GED equivalent Required; Bachelors Degree Preferred
