This position is for the 2026-27 School Year. Teacher - Elementary Special Education (Adapted Curriculum). FLSA: Exempt-Certified. REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education and Building Principal. QUALIFICATIONS: Current state teaching certificate in Special Education; Bachelor's degree; positive interpersonal skills; team building; behavior management; knowledge of SPED process and laws; strong organizational, oral/written and time management skills; computer and assistive technology skills desired. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 Day Contract. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervise the special education process from screening through identification, IEP development, and appropriate placement; assist in implementing IDEA; supervise/coordinate SPED programs and diagnostics; ensure completion of evaluation reports and IEPs; review IEP documents for compliance; screen transfer/referral records; monitor evaluation timelines; facilitate integration into regular classes; collaborate with general education for co-teaching. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist Director with new program components; prepare reports; provide in-service training; attend meetings/trainings; maintain confidentiality; perform other duties as directed.
