This position is for the 2026-27 School Year. Teacher - Elementary Special Education (Adapted Curriculum). FLSA: Exempt-Certified. REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education and Building Principal. QUALIFICATIONS: Current state teaching certificate in Special Education; Bachelor's degree; positive interpersonal skills; team building skills; positive behavior management; knowledge of the Special Education process and laws; strong organizational, oral/written and time management skills; computer skills and knowledge of assistive technology desired. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 Day Contract. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervise the special education process from screening through identification, IEP development, and assist with appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities; assist in implementation of IDEA; supervise and coordinate programs, policies and diagnostic procedures; organize and ensure completion of all evaluation reports and IEPs; review documents for compliance; screen transfer/referral records; monitor evaluation timelines; facilitate integration of students into regular classes; collaborate with general education teachers for successful co-teaching. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist Director in research/implementation of new components; assist in preparation of federal, state and local reports; provide in-service training; maintain confidentiality; other duties as directed.
