POSITION TITLE: Substitute Teacher. FLSA: Exempt Professional. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED; Experience working with children and parents from diverse backgrounds preferable; Applicants will complete an internal training module before their first substitute assignment. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: On an as needed basis. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of the students; Implement effective lessons in the absence of the regular Instructor; Ensure that district policies are observed; Create a safe classroom environment; Keep all children in the classroom under supervision at all times; Be familiar with safety procedures; Maintain confidentiality; Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances; Report for duty 30 minutes early and remain on duty for the entire assignment. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations; Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities; Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records; Leave detailed notes for teacher; Other duties as assigned by the Principal, or the Substitute Office.
