POSITION TITLE: Substitute Teacher. FLSA: Exempt Professional. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED; experience with children and parents from diverse backgrounds preferred; completion of internal training module before first assignment. TERMS: As needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include maintaining a positive learning environment; implementing lessons in the absence of the teacher; ensuring policy compliance; creating a safe classroom; supervising students; following procedures; maintaining confidentiality; adapting to circumstances; and reporting for duty early and remaining on duty. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS include abiding by policies; protecting students and property; maintaining accurate records; leaving notes for the teacher; and other duties as assigned.
