Special Education Paraprofessional - Self Contained Elementary Classroom Assistant. Assists the teacher in daily classroom activities, supports special needs students, and cares for their physical, emotional health and safety. Paraprofessional Certification Information: Georgia paraprofessionals must hold a valid Paraprofessional Educator certificate from GaPSC (may be completed within first 30 days of employment). Applicants must hold at least a high school diploma or GED and meet one of: 60 semester/90 quarter hours of higher education; an associate’s or higher degree; or a passing score on the Georgia/GACE/Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment. Additional requirements include filing, computer skills, classroom management, and other duties as assigned.
