This position is for the 2026-27 School Year. Teacher - JROTC Instructor. PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of Teacher JROTC was established for the purpose(s) of facilitating student success in academic and interpersonal skills through JROTC and District approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.; provides leadership and coordination within a particular curriculum and serves as part of the leadership team in coordinating the instructional program of the school. This position will be an 11-month employee; compensation calculated using the JROTC Minimum Instructor Pay Formula (MIP). REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor Degree or higher; certified by US Army Cadet Command; must pass the GACE Fundamentals of the Science of Reading/Literacy Assessment within the first three years; DD214. Must have a minimum 10 years of service or retired O3–O6 or W01–CW5 with no more than 5 years separation; honorable discharge. ESSENTIAL DUTIES include prompt and regular attendance, serving as JROTC Department Head, planning and executing JPA strategy, adapting classroom work to individualized plans, inspiring and equipping all students, exposing cadets to post-high school opportunities, using personalized learning strategies, analyzing data to design and evaluate learning, developing a positive classroom environment, administering assessments, advising parents, collaborating with staff and stakeholders, coordinating activities, supervising and evaluating Army Instructors, counseling students, implementing JROTC curriculum, managing co-curricular activities, instructing LET 1–4, maintaining equipment and supplies, modeling leadership and listening skills, monitoring students in various environments, preparing written materials, providing instruction to meet JROTC requirements, reporting incidents, submitting required reports, responding to questions, training students to become better citizens, participating in meetings, and other related duties.
