Teacher - SPED Speech/Language Pathology 2026-27 School Year. FLSA: Exempt-Certified. REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education and Building Principal. QUALIFICATIONS: Current state teaching certificate in Special Education; Bachelor's degree; positive interpersonal skills; team building skills; positive behavior management skills; knowledge of the Special Education process and laws; excellent organizational, oral and written skills, time management, and telephone skills; computer skills and knowledge of assistive technology desired. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 Day Contract. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervise the special education process from screening through identification, IEP development, and assist with appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities; assist in IDEA implementation; supervise and coordinate programs, policies and diagnostic procedures; organize and ensure completion of all evaluation reports and IEPs; review IEPs for compliance; screen transfer and new referrals; monitor evaluation timelines; facilitate integration of students into regular classes; collaborate with general education teachers for successful co-teaching. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist Director with research/implementation; assist in report preparation; provide in-service training; attend meetings and training; maintain confidentiality; perform other duties as directed.
