POSITION TITLE: Substitute Teacher. FLSA: Exempt Professional. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED; experience working with children and parents from diverse backgrounds preferable; complete an internal training module before first assignment. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: On an as-needed basis. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Maintain a positive learning environment; implement lessons in absence of regular instructor; ensure district policies are observed; create a safe classroom environment; keep all children under supervision; follow fire/storm procedures; review notes, take attendance, and follow lesson plans; maintain confidentiality (FERPA); adapt to circumstances; exhibit good judgment and appropriate language/behavior; report for duty 30 minutes early and remain for entire assignment. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Abide by statutes, policies and regulations; protect students and property; maintain accurate records; leave detailed notes; other duties as assigned by Principal or Substitute Office.
