POSITION TITLE: Substitute Teacher. FLSA: Exempt Professional. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED; experience working with children and parents from diverse backgrounds preferable; completion of an internal training module before first assignment. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: On an as needed basis. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include maintaining a positive learning environment, implementing effective lessons in the absence of the regular instructor, ensuring district policies are observed, creating a safe classroom environment, supervising students at all times, following emergency procedures, reviewing notes and taking attendance, maintaining confidentiality (FERPA), adapting to circumstances, reporting on time for entire assignment, and leaving notes for the teacher. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS include following policies, protecting students and property, maintaining records, and other duties as assigned.
