The special education paraprofessional assists the teacher in daily classroom activities, supports special needs students, and attends to their physical and emotional health and safety. Paraprofessional Certification Information: valid GaPSC Paraprofessional Educator certificate (may be completed within first 30 days). Applicants must hold a high school diploma or GED and meet one of: two years of college (60 semester/90 quarter hours), an associate’s or higher degree, or passing the GACE/Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment.
