Job Summary
A Master Technician – Electrical Test is responsible for troubleshooting and testing commercial refrigeration units prior to shipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards and production guidelines. This role involves interpreting wiring schematics, conducting comprehensive electrical tests, and performing piping inspections. The technician must document test results, identify defects, and make minor repairs as needed. The role requires knowledge of electrical practices, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within electrical field.
· Ability to understand and interpret wiring schematics/blue prints, operate a multi-meter, manage and document electrical testing results using appropriate computer applications, specifically Microsoft Windows and Outlook.
· When performing test functions, must be able to perform piping inspection, and piping print verification, flow direction check, accessibility of components, sonic ear leak test and helium leak test.
· Each operator must be able to perform a full function electrical test to include electrical parts verification, print verification, hi-pot testing, complete electrical testing and trouble- shooting.
· Must be able to demonstrate effective understanding of company-provided electrical training through OJT applications, including timely progression through training matrix.
· Must make minor fixes at test station as needed and record trends for corrective analysis.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 1-3 years relevant electrical experience required.
· Prefer knowledge of NEC and UL codes, HVAC certification, and understanding of refrigeration concepts.
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Must be able to read, write, accurately read a tape measure, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
· Able to work independently to maintain production, efficiency, quality and discipline.
· Must use appropriate skills, required equipment, and tools, and accurately read and interpret blueprints.
· Must be able to use IT solutions to document all defects and have a working knowledge of the production audit paperwork system.
· Must work with minimal supervision and maximum initiative to assure that the job gets done in a timely and effective manner.
· Must provide on-going training as needed to correct operator defects.

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
· Able to move up to 30-40lbs, two person life up to 60lbs.
· Wear required PPE, including steel toed safety shoes, at all times, follow 6S procedures, participate in preventative injury exercises, and comply with all job-related work instructions.
· Job requires the ability to stand and walk on concrete surface for entire shift.
· Must be fully mobile: able to reach, bend and twist, grasp, pull, push, squat, bend at the knees and waist, crawl, lift.
