Job Summary
Production Painter is responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets.
· Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
· Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting.
· Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection.
· Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs.
· Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
· Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
· Apply several coats according to paint directions.
· Apply touchups or second coats.
· Remove paint splatters when finished.
· Clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns.
· Utilize spray guns for large jobs.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
· High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Must be able to read and understand shop orders
· Must be free from color blindness
· Must have sufficient upper body strength to meet continuous lifting at or above shoulder height

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
· Must be able to walk on concrete floor from 8 hours a day depending on production needs, with occasional overtime
· Heavy or constant visual attention that is required when performing job
· Ability to lift 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds team lifting, raising or lowering an object from one level to another, including upward pulling
· Ability to handle job materials, sizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hands
