Job Summary
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for overseeing the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments. This role involves verifying delivery quantities and quality against purchase orders, maintaining accurate records of received goods, and coordinating with suppliers to resolve discrepancies. The clerk will also assist with data entry into inventory management systems, organize and store received items, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in logistics software are essential for success in this position.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage.
· Verify received items against purchase orders and shipping documents.
· Record and document all received goods in the inventory management system.
· Tag and label items appropriately for inventory tracking.
· Assist in the organization and storage of received items in the warehouse.
· Communicate discrepancies or damages to the appropriate departments.
· Collaborate with warehouse staff to maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
· Assist with inventory counts and audits as needed.
· Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience in receiving or warehousing preferred.
· Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems (SAP)
Associated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Proficient in using shipping software and inventory management systems
· Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
· Examples would be office or outdoors.
· Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
· Physical effort/lifting, up to 10 pounds; light – up to 20 pounds; medium – up to 50 pounds; heavy – over 50 pounds.
· May be asked to occasionally work weekends, over-time or 7 days a week
